Got off the cargo ships and hoped across to Cathay and Chitral - cargo/passenger ships on the Far East run - great times !!
Cathay and Chitral were sisters, originally built for the Belgian Congo run.
Pretty good run around the Far East - lot of chart work for the Second Mate!
Second Mate - and loving it !
My Honda 750/4 came for the ride too!
The Second Mate off to Kamakura for a run from Tokyo!
Not sure if this is the same Santa on page 70 of my book ?? But he'll do !
We took Chitral to the shipbreaker in Hualien, Taiwan where she was chopped up. Cathay was sold off to the Chinese and renamed Shanghai, and staggered on for a few more years - sad ending.
